Sylvia Veitia

Sylvia Veitia’s legacy began when her family left Cuba for Puerto Rico during the Cuban Revolution. Her parents took only what they could fit into a suitcase to start a new life on the island. Growing up, Veitia knew well of the sacrifices her parents made so she could have a prosperous future and “pay it forward” for the next generation.

Today, Veitia is Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Customer Experience at Ford Motor Credit Company, Ford’s global financial services unit, with $146 billion in managed receivables. Since 2019 she has led 4,000+ employees and key company initiatives, including: architecting a client contact center; developing a strategic direction for global business center operations; overseeing global quality and process management; and evolving the strategic direction of marketing and customer service.

Veitia’s influence goes well beyond her corporate remit. She currently serves as President of the Ford Hispanic Latin Employee Resource Group (FHLN) – a global organization with a 30-year heritage – and has been a key advisor to Ford’s dealer body. In addition, she supports Ford’s talent recruiting; advancement and retention programs for Latinos; and maintains a strong partnership with the DEI office.

As the highest ranking Latina at Ford, Veitia also pioneers initatives and programs to inspire people at all levels across the enterprise, such as delivering global strategy meetings for all Latinos in Spanish by Latin leaders across Ford; working with the Ford Fund and private and public academic institutions to drive greater equity in communities; and volunteering as a translator to enable immigration work led by Jones Day. Veitia was also the keynote speaker at the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Annual Symposium, discussing the importance of diversity in corporate America and the critical role of ERGs in the recruitment,advancement and retention of talent.

Prior to Ford, Veitia led transformational initiatives at Barclays, serving as Managing Director, Global Head of Business Architecture, Lean and Automation, and Customer Experience. Before that, she was Head of Customer Experience Management for Citi Cards. Veitia also spent 21 years with AAA Mid-Atlantic, serving as Vice President.
