Lupita Colmenero

COO, LATINA Style, Inc.

Lupita Colmenero is the co-founder and publisher of El Hispano News newspaper in Dallas, Texas, Chief Operating Officer at LATINA Style Inc., and President and founder of Parents Step Ahead (PSA), a Dallas-based nonprofit.

As President and Founder of PSA, Colmenero works to “recognize, educate, enable and empower parents to take a proactive role in the educational and personal development of their children". PSA works with school districts, community organizations and businesses to offer school-based programs for parents. More than 60,000 families have been served to date.

Colmenero is also the Chief Operating Officer and co-owner of LATINA Style Inc. a national company focusing on leadership and empowering the Hispanic professional working women. The company publishes LATINA Style Magazine, the most influential media addressing the concerns of the Hispanic professional woman.

Colmenero has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the Cuban National Council and the National Association on Corporate Responsibility. In 2005 she was the first woman elected President of the National Association of Hispanic Publications Inc., where she championed the cause of minority owned businesses and prioritized training and mentoring Hispanic publications.

Colmenero is married to Robert E. Bard, president and CEO of LATINA Style Inc. and has two children: Eileen M. Suarez a graduate from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi TX, and a naval officer, and Marcos N. Suarez Jr. a graduate from Wichita Falls University. Lupita Colmenero was born in Guanajuato; Mexico and she is a US Citizen.
